I know I haven't been diligent in updating this space even though there were times that I wish I did when I had something on my mind.
Year end reviews have been something I do on a yearly basis so I don't wanna leave this out for 2017! I'll just merge this together with my life updates in this post. And as usual, I'm gonna use my instagram as a guide wtf I'm that lazy.
1. I Graduated and Became an ACCA Affiliate
*Please bear with the super low quality pic I regret not bringing my DSLR okay??
This is something I feel extremely lucky about. Anything could have happened to my last paper. And I was intimidated from the stories I heard about failing ACCA, sometimes more than once. I took the leap of faith and just did it, at the same time giving room to myself for maximum 1 failure attempt. I can't believe I completed it without any failures, something I owe it to my lecturers, family and friends. I know it's not the end, and I have so many more things to look forward to, but this is a good consolation prize before I embark on the journey to achieve something bigger.
I also managed to squeeze in some time for OBU as well. Obtained a First Class Honors all thanks to my Fundamental results in ACCA. In reality, I only got a C for my research HAHAHAHAHAHA.
2. Left Sunway :(
3. I'm Employed
Lmao you'd know by now if you've been reading this space. HAHAHAHA I have KPMG plastered everywhere basically. But yeah, I'll just update about my 4 months experience working in this section.
So this company's culture is such that we are allocated to not just one client, but sometimes 2 or 3, depending on the size of the client. Hence, even if the allocation period is over for that particular client, there will ALWAYS be backlog. Albeit having to run here and there to several different clients in a span of a month and getting the opportunity to learn more about different segments, it gets tiring when the backlog comes chasing at you from behind. Yep sure, the stuff you're doing is pretty minor but when everything accumulates, oh boyyy. But I'm getting better at handling that so that's good.
FYI, there is a super high turnover rate in the audit field, so there's always insufficient seniors around to lead companies. 2 weeks ago I received several emails from my manager. Apparently, during peak, I have to be in charge of 2 subsidiaries. T____T It's absurd right, after knowing I already have be in charge of 3 dormant subsidiaries, which means I am in charge of a grand total of 5 subsidiaries.
What I'm grateful for is the support from the team. My seniors who were in charge of the subsidiaries are still in the team so I can always consult them for help. And my Group senior will be there to guide me as well. My manager said I can always ask her if there's anything I don't understand. It's not always that you get the opportunity to have so much help, especially in the field of audit.
4. I Climbed More Hills
Bukit Kutu! I'm super proud of this one because it's a tiresome 4.5-hour hike uphill omgosh.

2. Left Sunway :(
My favourite spot in Sunway
Taken before Finals HAHAHA
Sunway is a place which I'm very fond of, until now I still miss the place very much.
Then again, I think it's not the place, but the people and the memories.
I like how everything fell into place in the end,
leaving no space for regrets.
Sunway will always hold a place in my heart.

Bukit Kutu! I'm super proud of this one because it's a tiresome 4.5-hour hike uphill omgosh.
First hike up to Bukit Broga. This was a simple one as compared to Bkt Kutu.
A mere 45-minute hike up. The view was magnificent.
Second hike up Broga, this time with friends. Pardon the quality.
How I wish I was as active in the second half of the year HAHAHAHA. Now I'm just a fat piece of slob who just lays down whenever I have the time to.
5. I Organised a Trip to Taiwan With Friends
It was sooooooo beautiful!
5.1 Subsequently Visited More Places (HAHAHA SUBHEADING)
Short trip to Penang
1 day trip to Bentong
Short trip to PD
Travelled to Singapore for the weekend
6. Joined First Tennis Tourney Since 2013
I won my match with the score of 6-0, 6-1. So so proud of this achievement,
hoping to get through to Finals next year.
It was good to pick up tennis once again after leaving Sunway.
7. My First Department Dinner
And also first and last department performance HAHAHA.
Didn't really thoroughly enjoy the whole event tbh cos we were all preparing for our performance,
but good experience overall.
8. First Annual Dinner
Backstory to this I almost couldn't get my makeup done because of some communication problems with Euphoria (the company which gave me a coupon which entitles me free makeup sessions after I purchased an item from them).
But I'm glad everything got sorted out and I could attend it with overly extravagant makeup.
HAHAHAHA.
2017 was big for me because I transitioned from a college student to a working adult, having to make a lot of my own decisions and having to be in charge of myself from now on. 2017 was really really good for me and even though there may not be many big events, I am extremely truly happy throughout the year. Here's to me hoping that 2018 will be great, if not greater. Thank you 2017, for not healing me, but developing me into someone stronger, someone I will thank in the future.
x
